Letter From The CEO: September 2022

To the Solace Community:

Assalamu alaikum dear Brothers and Sisters,

If you’ve been reading my letters since we began earlier this year, you may have noticed you haven’t received one since July 2022. There are a number of reasons for that. The main one is that we have decided to deliver them quarterly due to how extremely busy we are!

I am so excited to let you know that we are finally preparing to launch the new Solace in Marriage service. Yes, you read right! After all these years – we’re finally inching closer to the time where you, as a brother or revert sister looking to marry, will receive an email in your inbox inviting you to sign up. I won’t say too much now, but this service is unique and one that is very close to my heart. It’s a thorough and beautiful service that will look after revert sisters during the entire journey of looking to marry. And it vets and educates the brothers too! But more on that towards the end of the year inshaAllah.

Aside from governance and administrative work, we had the pleasure of collaborating with IAP where we hosted an Eid event and a summer trip for revert sisters and their children. For the first time, we also hosted an Eid event in our Manchester branch.

We have revamped our Volunteers Programme, which means you can apply to volunteer for Solace with your amazing skills and qualifications whilst we, as a charity, ensure you are supported and cared for during your time with us. We have already recruited new volunteer writers for our blog, alhamdulillah.

Our 1-1 Support Service continues to make up the bulk of what we do at Solace, with revert sisters from around the world are supported by our wonderful support workers.

Something exciting is soon to be announced – so do look out for our next email inshaAllah.

Lastly, I would like to thank everyone for the kind words I have received from my team at Solace and the Solace community regarding my personal news that I have written a book with Penguin which is soon to be published inshaAllah. I truly feel honoured and pray I do it justice. May Allah reward you all for your love and support. Ameen.

Please do continue to support us with your time and money, so that we can continue to support our revert sisters in difficulty.

Until my next letter inshaAllah,

Your sister,

Aliyah Quadri (Umm Raiyaan)
