To the Solace Community:
Assalamu alaikum dear Brothers and Sisters,
I pray this newsletter, for the last quarter of 2022, finds you and your loved ones in good health and strong faith. Ameen.
I cannot believe I am writing this on the last day of January 2023! Surely it was only yesterday where the world welcomed the Gregorian New Year! SubhanAllah, such is an indication of how fast time flies. May Allah enable us to utilise our time in the best way, for His Sake, always. Ameen.
The latter part of 2022 has been non-stop for us at Solace.
We held our annual Walk With Her across four cities, which raised much needed funds to continue to support our beneficiaries. In particular, these funds helped contribute towards the launch of a large new service from December 2022.
In December, we held our annual Life After Shahaadah Conference, attended by 200 sisters, where the focus was purely giving back to our revert sisters. The theme of ‘marriage’ tied in perfectly with the launch of our 5-stage Solace in Marriage service. More on that can be found here: solaceuk.org/marriage
Through Allah’s permission, and your committed support to Solace we continue to provide 1-1 support for revert sisters in our London and North branches. And that support has been extended to psychotherapy and financial support where needed, alhamdulillah!
Due diligence to start our first African project for revert sisters is finally near completion and we are excited to announce that our revert sisters in Guinea-Bissau will soon receive this essential support.
As a team, we held our Operational Plan Review of 2022 in December and we are pleased to announce 80% of it was executed! We then came together as a team and developed our plan for 2023. Alhamdulillah, this is already in full swing! Through these quarterly letters of mine, I am excited to present to you the services we are developing in and for 2023 as well as our plan to ensure more revert sisters are supported in lesser-known areas around the UK.
All of this is possible due to your support – through du’a, spreading the word about who we are and what we do, volunteering and, of course, donations.
As we move into the blessed month of Ramadan, we ask for your continued support and to please ask your friends and families to support us too.
It is a wonder to witness more and more women embracing Islam in this age. Solace is here to support them through their difficulties well beyond the shahaadah.
Until my next writing, inshaAllah.
Your sister,
