Day 19 | Al-Wadud

أَسْأَلُكَ حُبَّكَ وَحُبَّ مَنْ يُحِبُّكَ وَحُبَّ عَمَلٍ يُقَرِّبُ إِلَى حُبِّكَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي
“O Allah I ask You for Your love, the love of those who love You, and the love of good deeds that bring me closer to Your love.” (Sunan Tirmithi 3235)

Allah praises those people amongst the people who love Allaah more than anything else, such that if anything from this dunya comes to tempt them- whether that’s a person, money, a job- they are able to overcome their own desire for that thing and push it aside by coming to Allah even stronger. The greatest form and expression of love, is sacrifice. And Allah loves any sacrifice that you make in His Way, and He loves those who make them.
