Day 12 | As-Samad

“O Allah, I ask You. O Allah, You are the One, the Only, Self-Sufficient/Eternal Refuge, Who does not give birth and was not born, and to Whom no one is equal. Forgive me my sins, surely you are Forgiving, Merciful.” (An-Nasa’i 3/52, Ahmad 4/338)

We may feel like we are in desperate need, that we are poor, but the truth is that, when we realise that we have Allah, As-Samad, to turn to for our needs, we are not really in need at all (in terms of in this dunya), we are not poor and destitute as we thought we were- we can rest assured because we have As- Samad, taking care of our needs. He will give us everything we need.
