“Before becoming Muslim, I was an atheist. Since embracing Islam, I've taken many risks, and each has been greatly rewarding. Before receiving support from Solace, I was incredibly harsh on myself, punishing myself for things like being late and feeling like a failure. Now, I have a much healthier relationship with myself. My connection with Allah has grown immensely, as my understanding of Islam has deepened. It’s been a beautiful journey. JazakAllah khayr—without Solace, I don't know where I'd be, but it wouldn't have been a good place, and Allah knows best.”

Sasha

“Before receiving support, I felt lost and struggled with the challenges posed by my family’s Islamophobia, which complicated our relationships. The support I received helped me feel understood and allowed me to shift my mindset. Throughout this journey, I also grew closer to Allah and strengthened my faith. I now find it easier to communicate with my family, and our relationship has improved. They are still adjusting, and we occasionally face challenges, but I’ve learned effective ways to navigate difficult conversations and maintain positivity. As a result, I’m feeling much better mentally. JazakAllah khair for all your support; it has truly transformed my life.”

Rachel

“Initially, I hesitated to seek help, but I am so glad I did. I was able to explore my understanding of Islam with my support worker, and I learnt that many of the solutions to my problems can be found in Islam. Because of these support sessions, my fear of wearing the hijab has reduced, and I plan to wear it soon. May Allah (SWT) always bless Solace so we can turn to it when needed.”

"Before receiving financial support from Solace, I was on the brink with my finances, in a very difficult situation with my little one. This support was a huge blessing from Allah, and I couldn't be more grateful for it, especially for its perfect timing. I needed to provide for us to meet our basic needs, such as shelter and food."

Imani

“The quality of support was so amazing and free! I have paid for other mental health support previously and they have not even matched 10% of the support Solace has provided.”

Pamela

“I contacted Solace during Ramadan. As it was my first time observing Ramadan and I was struggling, I needed someone to talk to. My medication made fasting difficult due to dehydration, which led me to doubt my faith. I was also dealing with personal struggles, making it a challenging period. My support worker was compassionate and understanding, helping me reconnect with my faith. Alhamdulillah, I am now in a much better place. Jazak Allah to my sisters in Solace for all their support!”

"I’ve received debt relief which has relieved a huge burden. The support I’ve received is truly getting me through a dark period of my life."

"The Dorset retreat was the perfect preparation for Ramadan, allowing me to tune in with myself and connect more deeply with Allah (SWT).I loved the interactive workshops, and it was emotional to hear the experiences of the other sisters. The location and venue were also lovely. The pampering session was such a delightful surprise! The schedule was perfectly balanced, with time to reflect, connect with other sisters, and benefit from the Islamic workshops.I left with inner peace and am truly grateful for the opportunity to experience so many blessings during the retreat.”

Fatima

“Attending the retreat was truly an inspirational experience. The host and volunteers were warm and welcoming. The setting was cosy and comfortable, and we were cared for with great kindness. I left the retreat feeling uplifted, motivated, and more connected to my faith. I believe I am entering Ramadan feeling ready, confident, and equipped with the tools to make the most of it, in sha Allah. I would highly recommend this retreat to any sister looking for support and a strong sense of sisterhood. Alhamdulilah.”

Amina

“This retreat has awakened me spiritually in ways I did not expect. Through the workshops with sister Aliyah, she has such a profound ways with words and changing one's perspective. I appreciate the sisterhood and bounds that was created during the retreat. I enjoy the laugh, and vulnerability we shared. Apart from the workshops, I enjoyed the pampering session and the unstoppable laughter during the pampering session.”

“The event was an answered dua for me. It provided a space where I got reminded of Allah (SWT) in a way that resonated with me. I also felt so understood even without having to over explain myself because everyone there has been through this exact journey; different specifics but similar situations. Alhamdulillah for Solace.”

“This Eid party for reverts wasn't just an event; it felt like coming home, a truly international family gathering. The activities were heartwarming, the food a delicious embrace, and the venue a haven of joy. Meeting new sisters from all corners of the world, all walking this same beautiful path, was so incredibly lovely. A deep sense of belonging, a shared understanding, filled the air. It was a beautiful reminder of our global faith, the strength of our sisterhood, and the profound joy of Eid. My heart is full.”

“Iftars can feel a bit lonely, I’m so grateful, first to Allah (SWT), and then to Solace, for organising this one Iftar near me. I loved the atmosphere and the sisterhood that Solace creates. The highlight of the event was the tarawih prayer that the sisters prayed together, it felt like dessert after the delicious food that was served. Alhamdulillah.”

"I met a sister from Slovakia, dined with a sister from Kenya, and I, myself, am from Poland. We shared our experiences and connected over similar struggles, but most of all, we had the chance to pray Taraweeh led by a female Qur’an reciter. The whole event made me feel welcomed, safe, and not judged."
