Financial Literacy Programme
Budgeting is a vital skill. It helps you stay on top of your finances and paves the way for you to save money towards the special things in life or achieving certain goals. Whether your goal is to spend no more than you earn, reduce your debts, or save for retirement, a home or a vacation, this budget training is for you.Â
Inside The Programme
The Financial Literacy service consists of the following:
Six (6) Fundamental Topics Covered
The financial literacy programme will consist of the following content: Budgeting, Debt, Banking, Borrowing, Benefits, and Saving.
Seven (7) Training Sessions
The content will be covered in seven (7) training sessions taking place between November 5th and 19th. Sessions are from 8pm to 9pm UK time.
Three (3) Follow-Up Group Mentoring Sessions
After the sessions, there will be follow-up group mentoring sessions once a month for three months.
By the end of the programme, you will:
Understand the difference between essential spending and non-essential spending
Know the importance of budgeting and the potential consequences of not having a budget
Understand the concept of debt, reasons for getting into debt, how to avoid it, and steps needed to be taken in case one gets into debt
Know the range of services offered by banks which will enable you to make informed choices on the most suitable account for you
Know the different methods of borrowing
Know the different benefits and potential consequences of benefit fraud
Understand the importance of setting saving goals and effective ways of saving
